School of Agriculture
Welcome to the School of Agriculture
The MTSU School of Agriculture appreciates your interest in our undergraduate and graduate programs. Our students have many diverse learning opportunities, including understanding agricultural business operations, agricultural production, and the science and technology of agricultural production and processing. Our students learn by doing and our courses incorporate a variety of hands-on learning opportunities. The School of Agriculture is a place where the faculty get to know you through involvement in classroom activities and extracurricular events. Our facilities include modern technology and we offer opportunities to study abroad. With several farms, a dairy, four greenhouses, a fermentation lab, and a horse science center, it’s not surprising that students can apply what they learn in a variety of real-life settings. Feeding the world in a sustainable way is key to the future, and students can participate in research and experiential learning toward that goal.
We offer programs leading to Bachelor of Science degrees in Agribusiness, Animal Science, Fermentation Science, Horse Science, and Plant & Soil Science. A concentration in pre-veterinary medicine is available to animal science majors. We offer a minors in precision agriculture, agricultural education and poultry science. A Master of Science (M.S.) degree is offered in Horse Science, with three concentrations: Equine Education, Equine Management, and Equine Physiology. We also offer a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Agricultural Education Leadership and a Master of Science in Professional Science (MSPS) – Fermentation Science.
We invite you to explore the many programs available in the School of Agriculture!
